Explorer Graduates Include Reps from Walnut, Diamond Bar, Industry

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca will speak at the ceremony Saturday for 215 new law enforcement Explorers.

 

When 215 new law enforcement Explorers cross the stage Saturday, graduates from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar and City of Industry stations will be among them.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca and Reserve Capt. James “Ray” Wells, from the Industry station, will deliver the keynote address to the graduation class at Whittier High School. 

The graduates will represent 21 communities including Altadena, Carson, Century, Cerritos, Compton, Crescenta Valley, East Los Angeles, Industry, Lakewood, Lancaster, Lomita, Malibu/Lost Hills, Marina Del Rey, Norwalk, Palmdale, Pico Rivera, San Dimas, Santa Clarita Valley, South Los Angeles, Temple, and Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Stations of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Baca will also be joined by the San Bernardino County Sheriff and police chiefs from the Baldwin Park, Baldwin Park Unified School District, Bell Gardens, Burbank, Huntington Park, Irwindale, Long Beach, Montebello, Montebello School, Monterey Park, Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, Pasadena, San Fernando, West Covina and Whittier police departments, who will present diplomas to their graduates.

Inspection will begin at 9 a.m. and the ceremony starts at 10 a.m. in the Whittier High School Auditorium, 12417 Philadelphia St.
